As Charlotte's first African American ophthalmologist, he helped break barriers in medicine while building a practice founded on compassion, integrity, and exceptional patient care - caring for generations of families from every background, including many African American and Hispanic families who have relied on him for decades.

Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes - Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to noon, in addition to weekday hours (Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM). Saturday visits are a good option if weekdays are hard for you. Call (704) 510-3100 to book.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans. Coverage for medical eye care differs from vision plans, so the fastest answer is a two-minute call - our front desk will verify your benefits before your visit.
¿Hablan español?
Sí. English- and Spanish-speaking patients are both welcome here, and many of the families we've cared for over the decades are Spanish-speaking. Llámanos al (704) 510-3100.
Can I fill out my paperwork before my visit?
Yes. You can download our patient forms, fill them in at home, and bring them with you. If you would rather fill them in here, we recommend arriving about ten minutes early.
What counts as an eye emergency?
Sudden vision loss, flashes of light, a curtain over your vision, eye pain, a chemical splash, or something stuck in the eye - call us immediately at (704) 510-3100; we hold same-week and urgent slots for exactly these situations. After hours or for severe injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
