Cataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens that usually comes on slowly with age. Blurry or dim vision, glare from headlights at night, and faded colors are common signs. Dr. Shah is fellowship-trained in advanced cataract surgical techniques and will tell you whether surgery makes sense for you.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma damages the optic nerve, often with no pain and no early warning signs. Vision lost to glaucoma cannot be brought back, so we focus on finding it early and keeping it under control with regular visits.

Diabetic Eye Care
Diabetes can damage the small blood vessels at the back of the eye, often before you notice any change in your vision. Regular diabetic eye exams help catch problems early, when there are more options to protect your sight.
Plaquenil Screening
Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) is used for conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Long-term use can affect the retina, so patients taking it need regular screening exams to check for early changes.
Contact Lens Services
Contact lens exams and fittings, help learning to wear and care for your lenses, and specialty lens options. A contact lens prescription is separate from a glasses prescription and needs its own fitting.
Eye Infections
Red, painful, sticky, or swollen eyes can mean an infection, and some infections need prompt treatment to protect your sight. Call the office and tell us what is going on.
Stye & Chalazion
A stye or chalazion is a tender or swollen bump on the eyelid. A bump that lasts, keeps coming back, or gets bigger should be checked. We evaluate and treat them in the office.
Acute Eye Problems
Same-week appointments for urgent concerns. If you have sudden vision loss, flashes of light, a curtain over your vision, eye pain, a chemical splash, or something stuck in your eye, call us right away at 704-510-3100. After hours or for a severe injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
